Health Freedom

Picture

A MORE REASONABLE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM:

We currently suffer under a system that is designed to treat dis-ease with chemical poisons in the pursuit of individual and corporate profits.

We support a complete overhaul of the health care system. The existing "health care" system has not, is not, and will not improve the health of the people of the nation.

The medical, surgical and pharmaceutical industries have little to no financial incentive to actually improve the health of the population. Unsuccessful treatments must not be rewarded financially.

Profits must be tied directly to successful improvements in preventing dis-ease and truly improving health.

HEALTH FREEDOM
We favor the passage of a Constitutional Amendment that would guarantee every American the right to ACCESS ANY form of health treatment that they choose. Please understand that ACCESS to health treatment does not mean that someone else will pay for it.

The freedom to choose a health practitioner or a method of healing should not be regulated by the FDA or any other government entity.

The medical-pharmaceutical industry has not improved the health of the average American citizen.

Forcing individuals to pay for "health insurance" that does not make them healthier is ABSURD.

Forcing people to pay for "health care" that poisons and kills them is absolutely CRIMINAL.

We deserve health freedom.

Whether you support or hate ObamaCare, TrumpCare, Universal Health Care, Single Payer, Medicare for All or any other form of "Health Care", you should realize that there is a much better way.
Paying for "health insurance" is not the same as paying for "health care", and paying for what our nation currently refers to as "health care" is definitely not the same as actually improving one's health.
"Health care" (disease management) costs will continue to rise until people are cared for in ways that actually make them healthier.

Pharmaceutical drugs (prescription or over the counter) only cover up the symptoms of dis-ease. Drugs do NOT make people healthier.
The people of the United States should NOT be forced to pay for a system that has been proven to kill hundreds of thousands of people each and every year.

Medical error

A Reasonable Health Care system should not be the third leading cause of death in the United States!

A Reasonable Health Care System would also NOT be allowed to regulate prices, but would be able to determine the subsidies that the system would pay towards to total cost of any given health care product or treatment.

Life-threatening, emergency and immediate care services should be given priority. A MEDICARE (PART A) FOR ALL system that guaranteed catastrophic emergency and hospital care is reasonable and doable. Additional insurance coverage should be up to the individual.

People should be encouraged to engage in activities and habits that maintain their good health. Financial incentives should be provided for people to practice preventative health care and maintain their own health.

People with "pre-existing conditions" should be treated the same as any other person.

We agree with the Centrist Party Platform:

"Probably the main cause for the increase in healthcare cost is the decrease in health in America. The answer for the long term is not more money, the answer is better health.

We don't necessarily need more drugs, we need healthier bodies that don't need drugs.

We don't necessarily need faster food, we need safer healthier food.

If we don't concentrate on these areas the cost of healthcare will continue to soar and the availability of quality healthcare on a per capita basis will continue to decline.

It can be argued that we don't have a healthcare system in America, we have a disease care system.

We must disconnect form the political system that created this problem through lobbyists and special interest influence if we are to begin to fix the problem.

The primary focus for individuals should be on our selves. Each of us needs to learn more about what is right for our body. To be healthy we need certain things:

Healthy Nutrition - Learning what each individual body needs is a personal awareness that takes sometimes years to understand. Each person is different and the foods we eat have a tremendous affect. Moderation and balance seem to be key to a healthy lifestyle with respect to our consumption habits.

Healthy Sleep - Allowing the body and mind to rest is essential to health. Healthy sleep means rejuvenating the mind and the body, allowing deep sleep is important to a healthy lifestyle.

Healthy Work - Work is our way of sharing our value and ability with those around us. It provides income in an exchange of our ability and talent to others and enables interaction and growth. Both physical and mental work seems to have many redeeming qualities. We should embrace our work as we embrace our life as it is a most important aspect of our existence, our livelihood, and our society.

Common sense in our health means learning more about what our own life needs to be healthy."

We agree with the Citizens Party Platform:

"We must remove the middle man from the process which adds costs, red tape and reduces access for many. Lobbyists from the health insurance and pharmaceutical industries help craft the Affordable Care Act. The primary reason was for them to greatly expand their customer base and increase profits. The goal was not to create affordable, quality healthcare for all.

We need to break-up the cozy financial relationship between drug companies, doctors, insurance companies, the FDA and medical researchers. Medical researchers are being funded by drug companies to develop new drugs and determine if their drugs are safe. This relationship makes it difficult for doctors to reach objective findings. Drug companies flood doctors’ offices and hospitals with funding and tons of free samples in exchange for recommending those drugs for their patients. Thus, the American people are being over-prescribed and over-medicated. The American people can't watch a single television show without seeing several drug commercials telling them to ask their doctor to give them name-brand drugs. That is not in the best interest of the patient. Plus, the drugs that are being advertised all over the TV and radio tend to be more expensive drugs."

We agree with the Pacific Greens Party Platform:
"Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the maintenance of good health. We acknowledge that personal health depends on public health. Public health requires the health of the natural, built, and social environments. The health status of others provides benefits to all, including future generations. We the People must:
  • Use precautionary, preventive approaches in decisions regarding public and private health concerns.
  • Insist that comprehensive health care not be tied to employment alone.
  • See that health care includes medical, vision, dental, mental health services and hospitalization, and is protected as a basic right.
  • Guarantee the right of all patients to choose their health care providers.
  • Support all modalities of healing including yoga, dance, herbs, homeopathy, acupuncture, ayurvedic, massage, reiki, et al., thus supplementing allopathic medicine with many forms of healing.
  • Guarantee the right of all patients to make personal medical decisions, including those involving abortion and the end of life such as Oregon's Death with Dignity law."

We agree with the 2012 Constitutional Party Platform:
"The federal government has no Constitutional provision to regulate or restrict the freedom of the people to have access to medical care, supplies or treatments. We advocate, therefore, the elimination of the federal Food and Drug Administration, as it has been the federal agency primarily responsible for prohibiting beneficial products, treatments and technologies here in the United States that are freely available in much of the rest of the civilized world.

We affirm freedom of choice of practitioner and treatment for all citizens for their health care.

We support the right of patients to seek redress of their grievances through the courts against insurers and/or HMOs.

We condemn the misrepresentations made by the Federal Administration in securing passage of the recently enacted Medicare prescription drug bill and the use of such legislation to secure government subsidies to special interests such as the HMOs, and
to protect the artificially high cost to consumers of prescription drugs."

We agree with the 2016 Constitution Party Platform:
"We affirm freedom of choice of practitioner and treatment for all citizens for their health care."

We agree with the 2014 Vermont Progressive Party Platform:
• Implement a comprehensive, full-spectrum single-payer health care system, including dental, vision, hearing, preventive and mental health care as well as providing coverage for proven alternatives to western medicine such as acupuncture, naturopathic, and chiropractic treatments.
• Establish Community Health Centers to deliver health care services throughout the [country].
• Subsidize tuition for students in underrepresented medical fields, who agree to remain and practice in ... Community Health Centers after graduation."

We agree with the 2016 Libertarian Party Platform:
"We recognize the freedom of individuals to determine the level of health insurance they want (if any), the level of health care they want, the care providers they want, the medicines and treatments they will use and all other aspects of their medical care, including end-of-life decisions."

We agree with the 2016 Democratic Party Platform:

"The largest pharmaceutical companies are making billions of dollars per year in profits at higher margins compared to other industries while many stash their profits in offshore tax havens. Meanwhile, they charge Americans thousands of dollars for new drugs--often at much higher costs than in other developed nations. [We] are committed to investing in the research, development, and innovation that creates lifesaving drugs and lowers overall health costs, but the profiteering of pharmaceutical companies is simply unacceptable."

"We must confront the epidemic of drug and alcohol addiction, specifically the opioid crisis and other drugs plaguing our communities, by vastly expanding access to prevention and treatment, supporting recovery, helping community organizations, and promoting better practices by prescribers."

We agree with the Tea Party Patriots:

"Real health care reform will improve our health care system while respecting all aspects of the constitution, with the rights of Americans to make personal choices protected and valued. We envision a country where individuals and families can be free and healthy.

Real health care reform will be comprehensible. Real health care reform proposals will be simple and concise. You won’t need a law degree to understand the bill. It will make the health care system easier to navigate because the bill itself will be clear and easy to comprehend.

Real health care reform will not add to the national debt."

We agree with the 2016 Republican Party Platform:
"Medicare’s long-term debt is in the trillions, and it is funded by a workforce that is shrinking relative to the size of future beneficiaries."

"More than 100 million Americans depend on Medicare or Medicaid for their healthcare; with our population aging, that number will increase. To preserve Medicare and Medicaid, the financing of these important programs must be brought under control before they consume most of the federal budget, including national defense. The good news is that it can be done, and it can be done without endangering the elderly and the needy who depend on those programs. We intend to save Medicare by modernizing it, empowering its participants, and putting it on a secure financial footing. We will preserve the promise of Medicaid as well by making that program, designed for 1965 medicine, a vehicle for good health in an entirely new era."
