Women's Issues
We agree with the Women's Equality Party's 10 Point Plan:
1. "Establish Pay Equity for Women
2. Stop Sexual Harassment in Every Workplace
3. Stop Businesses from Discriminating against Pregnant Women
4. Strengthen Human Trafficking Laws
5. End Hiring and Salary Discrimination Against Parents
6. Stop Landlord Discrimination Against Women Who Depend on Housing Assistance
7. Stop Housing Discrimination for Victims of Domestic Violence
8. Allow for the Recovery of Attorneys’ Fees in Employment and Credit and Lending Cases
9. Protect Victims of Domestic Violence by Strengthening Order-of-Protection Laws
10. Apply the full standards of Roe v. Wade in New York"
We agree with the 2016 Democratic Party Platform:
"We are committed to ensuring full equality for women. [We] will fight to end gender discrimination in the areas of education, employment, health care, or any other sphere. We will combat biases across economic, political, and social life that hold women back and limit their opportunities and also tackle specific challenges facing women of color. After 240 years, we will finally enshrine the rights of women in the Constitution by passing the Equal Rights Amendment. And we will urge U.S. ratification of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women."
We agree with Our Revolution:
"We must ... establish equal pay for women. It’s unconscionable that women earn less than men for performing the same work."
"[Enact the] Paycheck Fairness Act into law. It is an outrage that women earn just 78 cents for every dollar a man earns."

We agree with Brand New Congress:
"Women have been at the forefront of every movement for social change in this nation’s history, yet inequality persists to this day. We need to protect the rights of women and ensure that all Americans, regardless of gender, truly have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Protecting the rights of women has never been so urgent. Establishment politicians strive to police women’s bodies but refuse to pass legislation guaranteeing equality under the law. From reproductive freedom to Title IX protections to the gender pay gap to STEM opportunities in education, the problems facing American women are manifold, and even worse for women of color, queer and transgender women, disabled women, and other marginalized women. Women are just as much members of our society as men, and it’s time that Congress finally listens to them. "
